George C. Anderson, former Colonel from Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Enlisted and mustered into service in October 1861 and promoted captain of Company K, 53rd PVI; promoted to major in September 1864 & to the position of lt. colonel on November 10, 1864. Mustered out of service with the regiment on June 30, 1865.
James W. Barnett from Latrobe, also a former member Co. K, 53rd PVI. A private, Barnett enlisted in 1861 and mustered out with the company in 1865.
Alexander Douglas from Latrobe, former member of Co. K, 53rd PVI. Enlisted and mustered November 5, 1861; mustered out of service on November 7, 1864, by expiration of term of service.
William H. Gilenst (Gilchrist), from Emporia, Kansas, a former member of Co. K, 53rd PVI. Enlisted and mustered November 5, 1861; mustered out of service on October 28, 1864, expiration of term of service.
Alexander McClain from Greensburg, Pennsylvania, former member of Co. K, 53rd PVI. Enlisted on January 3, 1864 and was a prisoner of war from June 4 through November 24, 1864. Mustered out with company on June 30, 1865.

NOTE: There are two veterans in the list attributed as being veterans of the 53rd PVI, but they are not- "George Landis from Latrobe", was in Co. B of the 153rd PVI, and "W. M. Merinean from Latrobe, 53rd PV" does not appear on the 53rd PVI's rolls. (Could this be a misprint? Could this have been William M. Mintzer, former colonel of the 53rd PA?)
