HOLIDAY PARTY 1999

On January 9th, 1999, the 53rd held its annual Holiday party for members and invited guests, once again at the beautiful General Sutter Inn in Lititz, PA. The men wore their best uniforms and several of the ladies wore period dresses. This year, we were entertained with period music by the group “Potomac Thunder”and a caller, who helped us through some period dances throughout the evening. A grand time was had by all. We also raffled off an 1861 Springfield Rifle to benefit the creation of our new colors. Pvt. Jeff Marks was the lucky winner - meaning he will finally be able to show up in the field with a clean musket!

President Butch Diamond gives a few remarks on the group’s past and upcoming campaigns.

Waltzing up a storm! The evening of period ballroom dancing really set a great tone to the evening.
