Gettysburg event in 1998 Gettysburg, 135th Anniversary, July 1-5, 1998- Crowded and hot but what a great event! Eighteen members of the 53rd PVI attended the 135th Gettysburg event.

On the set of the film "Gettysburg"- Some of the boys braved the week-long sit in to help the filmaker reproduce the "Battle of Gettysburg" as close as possible to the real thing. Well, we tried...... Here we are dressed as the 72nd PA, "Baxter's Fire Zouaves".

Reading Memorial Day Parade- May, 1998- Company C, 53rd PVI marched in this annual parade held over Memorial Day in Reading, PA.

Holiday Party, December 13, 1997- A memorable evening at the General Sutter Inn in Lititz.

135th Antietam, September 13-14, 1997
Eckley Miners' Village, August 23-24, 1997- Our first game of Townball was started here, thanks to Marc Benedict who provided balls, bats, stakes and the rules!

135th Second Bull Run, August 2-3, 1997- Held near Manassas, Virginia, it was a warm weekend to redo Second Bull Run, but some of the boys got their licks in before forced to hightail it outa there.
Gettysburg, July 5-6, 1997- The prep event for the 135th, over 12,000 reenactors from all across the country made it a memorable weekend, highlighted by "Pickett's Charge".

Shiloh, April 5-6, 1997- Rain, rain, and more rain. Then it rained buckets. Then it really rained...... No one who was there will ever forget the river that ran right through the camp.
