Photos Co. 'C', 53rd Pennsylvania Volunteers

Living History at Loysville, November 2004

Company C was invited to give a day of Civil War demonstrations to Cub Scout Pack 190 at Hidden Valley Scout Camp near Loysville, Pennsylvania. It was a one day show with scouts and their parents. We set up four stations for the scouts to visit to learn about soldier life, music, medical treatment, and drill. The kids and parents all got involved in marching and drilling and we had a great time.

Lt. Diamond passes instructions to the field officer for the dress parade that afternoon as the sun begins to set. The scouts and their families did a great job for first time soldiers!

The company "officers" salute the battalion commander at the end of the dress parade, before all adjourned to the evening campfire. Thanks for a great day, scouts!
