Cedar Creek, 2004

The 140th Anniversary of the Battle of Cedar Creek, Virginia, was held on a cool and tumultous weekend in October with nine members attending, once again portraying Company C, 95th Pennsylvania Infantry. Almost 14,000 participants made the event an interesting one, though the larger they get more often the less manageable they are. Anyway, WE had a great time in the wind and passing rain storms!

Battle opens
Sunday's battle featured the National Regiment (representing part of the Nineteenth Corps) running for our lives from thousands of Rebs, who drove us through the Federal camp much to the delight of the crowd. Luckily the old Sixth Corps stood fast and drove the Rebels (those who could still walk) back after a prolonged fight. This view from the ranks was taken as the ball was opening.
